The Université catholique de Louvain invites applications for a tenure track or tenured full time position in Soil Sciences


UCL is a full university offering, in the context of the present position, the opportunity of cross-disciplinary research and teaching. Within the Sector of Sciences and Technologies (SST) of UCL, the position will be attached to the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering (AGRO-Louvain) and to the Earth & Life Institute (ELI). AGRO-Louvain offers undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and lifelong professional training in life sciences and engineering.

The Earth & Life Institute gathers more than 300 scientists, covering a wide range of disciplines in the Earth & Life sciences. Their objective is to understand the basic processes of the Earth & Life system at different scales and to design sustainable solutions to meet major challenges for our societies. The Earth and Life Institute develops research in several topical areas of the Earth and Life systems such as agronomy, biodiversity, climate, environmental and microbiological sciences, among which a large number of themes in relationship with soil science.

The candidate will be located in the city campus of Louvain-la-Neuve that offers a unique modern living environment inside a naturally preserved neighbourhood, conveniently connected at the heart of Europe.
